review 1: What did I think of the trilogy? It was ok. I didn't have and serious issues with it, and of course, my desire to judge it on its own merits steers me away from most other considerations, IE., this was intended to be a YA novel, like the others. The original push of the novels was fairly interesting, but it could have been developed with less of a straight line. I don't mean that the characters needed to be different, per-se, only the revelations and perhaps the underlying plot. I've seen some very twisted YA novels, so I know that simplicity isn't a genre requirement.I've always been a big fan of Kim Harrison, but I have to admit that I'm only ok with these novels. I'm just not super enthusiastic. I'm still going to keep reading her books, of course, but I'll always be ch... moreomping on the bit for her adult oriented stories. Maybe not so much for the YA. Maybe it's just me. :)
review 2: The basic premise for this series has a lot of potential. It’s a pretty original take on the good angel/bad angel trope, but the execution is a bit lacking. Madison is a likeable character and so are the angels around her, but nothing really develops story-wise beyond the most basic of plots. The writing is good and the reader can really get into the action of the story, but it seems to me that the great potential in the idea never really gets developed. less

This wrapped up the trilogy nicely. I'm glad I finished it, even though I got off to a rough start.
