review 1: This book was the first I had read by this author. I was not very impressed. Interesting setting, has some historical accuracy to it, is an interesting blending of the local natives beliefs and Christianity. spoilers alert. I appreciate the missionary work needed but did not like how this was explained in the book.Lizzie's conversion was rapid - too fast and too convenient. Clay is just irritating. I cannot see the self sufficient Lizzie falling for him.
