review 1: It's not that Kishore Mahbubani is unintelligent, on the contrary he's probably very very sharp. It's just that he isn't as good a writer as he is a diplomat and civil servant. This book (as well as most of his other ones) keep harping on the same theme, over and over again. It's not insubstantial, and at times it is surprisingly informative, but it lacks flair and fails to convince the reader. In short, it's useful, but not really very readable.

Not only is Kishore insightful, his concise delivery and fact-packed text is equivalent to a punch in the head.A pure diplomat and a word-churner from Lee Kuan Yew's Institute of Public Policy no less, he possesses a keen knowledge of the East/West - Love/Hate.Eve... moren if you think his thinking is askewed, I believe this book is definitely worth the time. less
