review 1: The funny thing for me is that I bought it for m/m romance being the main yummy course and it's wasn't. Not for me. The attraction, sexual tension were just a bonus to a very gripping, witty story. A little grotesque in places but still, quite tolerable for me even though I hate gore and butchery and torture...bleagh. I'm not even into paranormal stuff. Usually. Not the point! I want to read the sequel, that's it.
review 2: I can't say I was totally enthralled with this book but I did enjoy it. For the most part I barely noticed that this was an historical book since the paranormal part was defiantly at the forefront of the book. What I liked most about the book was the fact neither guy was jumping into bed right away. There was time spent developing the plo... moret and the characters instead of just having a sex filled romp. I would have like to know more about the original Magpie Lord and I'm really looking forward to future books that explore Stephan and Crane's life together after finding about their connection together. less
