review 1: I think I have a new author to add to my list of favorites. This book was a FAST read. I started it last night - around 9:30 - and finished it during lunch today. And yes, I did go to work and didn't sneak away to read. A fun peek into another London with magic, romance and mystery thrown in. True love exists in this storyline and I'm excited about the next one in the series. Now I have to track it down!
review 2: This was a debut novel, I'm pretty sure, so it had a lot of the usual pitfalls - slight inconsistencies in the plot, minorly one-dimensional characters. Overall, though, it was pretty engaging. I read it in about two days. It has a lot of intrigue throughout that made me want to keep reading when other draws in the book had slowed down.
