review 1: Unwanted is a police procedural taking place in Sweden. I was hoping for more "atmosphere" but that was lacking. The characters were interesting enough that I will read the second book in the series. I considered Unwanted light reading. The last 100 pages kept me glued. The solving of the crime was anti climatic but that is not unusual with many police procedural's. I think it lived up to my expectations. I didn't set the bar super high for this book.
review 2: I do enjoy my Scandinavian police mysteries. Now, this isn't at a Harry Hole/ Jo Nesbo level; but it's still pretty good. There's more of a team element to this {unlike in the Hole series} and more character back stories to examine. I didn't particularly relate to any of them, and sometimes found it... more irritating that it took them quite so long to figure out the symbolism {it really was staring you right in the face!} but it was a quick, easy read. less
