review 1: This is the 5th book in the Cackleberry Club mystery series by Laura Childs. Suzanne and Toni volunteer to take flowers out to the Kindred's Memorial Cemetery for the Sesquicentennial Celebration and candle light walk. When they get there to drop off the flowers they see their friend Missy Lanston driving off in a huge hurry and almost hitting them. When the get there - the ladies find Lester Drummond's body in a freshly dug grave - dead. No one is sure what happened to the fired prison warden. Thus begins the investigation into his death by Sheriff Doogie and Suzanne. Suzanne is bound to clear the name of her good friend Missy. The problem is so many people in Kindred hated Lester. All the regulars return in the next installment of the series. Petra, Toni, Junior, Kit, Sh... moreeriff Doogie, Carmen, Mocha and a few other surprises. The ending will take you by surprise. A good read.
review 2: Eggs in a Casket by Laura Childs is the 5th book in A Cackleberry Club mystery series. Suzanne and Toni find the body of ex prison warden Lester Drummond in an open grave while delivering flowers for upcoming 150th anniversary celebrations at the cemetery. It was good to catch up with the ladies at the Cackleberry Club again although I did not think this book was as good as the previous ones. The ending was abrupt and not properly explained and left a lot of unanswered questions. It also seemed a bit farfetched. Recipes are included and sound delicious. less
