review 1: I've read the author's other series and am not a big fan, but if I have a couple of hours... I just could not get into these characters or plot by page 70. I thought they'd be a fun women's group who solve crimes/murders, but by page 70 nothing had happened. I didn't really feel the relationship between them either.Wasn't Sam Hazlet (name of a potential love interest in this book) the name of Jessica Fletcher's sheriff side kick in Murder She Wrote? Not that it matters.
review 2: I love all the series that Laura Childs writes...the tea shoppe cozies, the scrapbooking cozies, and now the Cackleberry Club cozies! I've read all of the books in this series and Stake & Eggs gave me as much pleasure as the previous books. I'm a cozy fan, and as such I look for great ... morecharacters, a pleasant setting, and of course a good storyline and mystery. Laura Childs delivers all of these in this series. I would recommend this book and this series to any cozy fan. less
