review 1: I read this second tale in the series fourth and still have not read book one yet. So I have now read them all except book one. I don't think that this matters particulary except that some of the men mentioned in this book have since married in later books.I did not find this one as easy to get into as some of the others written later. I found Magalie too prideful ,too touchy and aggressive. I eventually understood more of her and her worries but she was so touchy and prickly that for a while I found her hard to like.Philippe was easier to like. Although he was arrogant about his talent I found it understandable, as it was based on genuine talent and affirmation from his peers. He actually came across as a decent bloke despite this and I don't mind reading about people wh... moreo are confident in their abilities. His reactions to Magalie's rejections were amusing. As the author usually does she built up a moving storyline. It was quite fascinating how the author wove the tale of Rapunzel into the overs story.
review 2: I have a feeling that I wouldn't want to read books by this author back to back because the two I've read have had very similar heroes and themes. But, as long as I wait a few weeks in between for my memory to eliminate the previous book, Florand's books are pure delight. They leave you with that feeling like you've had a really cathartic cry, which I'm sure sounds terrible to some people, but is really quite nice. :-) less
