review 1: I really liked this book. The main characters are hurting from their past, but seem to be really nice people who don't realize how nice they are because they see themselves the way they think everyone else sees them. I was really choked up several times because it was just so sad how the "spoiled brat rich girl" was really so unspoiled in the only way she really wanted to spoiled. A lot of books leave me thinking the characters should have just said what the really felt and avoided the drama, but in this book, you could really understand how they were misunderstanding each other based on previous experiences. I thought it was an amazing book.
review 2: 3.5 stars. This was my first by this author, and apparently it is the fifth in a series of "chocolate" boo... moreks set in Paris. I picked this up at the library based on the cover and its description of a three-star patisserie finding love with the owner of the hotel where he makes his desserts. The characters were a bit stilted for me at first, but once I got into the book, I thoroughly enjoyed them. Bonus points for its Paris setting, and for transporting me to one of my favorite cities in the world. less
