review 1: What an annoying ending! Oh yes it's oh so romantic. A bit trite and over the top in fact. But here we are having slogged through the book (which started out well, lots of kitchen scenes, characters, and then devolved into pages and pages and pages of the two lovers each worrying over their own insecurities on and on and on) and then splat. One breath after the big reveal, we are struck in the face with "Fin". The end. No epilogue. No going back to say hey to the many offstage characters. Done.Even though it's not a cliffhanger, it feels cliffhanger-y emotionally. And we still don't know who Luc's mysterious partner in the South Of France is (which was the teaser at the end of the book before this.) Can I say I'm annoyed again? Annoyed.

... moren of the Chocolat series by Laura Florand. I really liked the way that she wrote The Chocolate Temptation to be in the same timeline as The Chocolate Heart, so you actually got to see a little of Summer and Luc's story from Patrick's viewpoint. Because I read that book months ago, I didn't remember too much about Patrick and Sarah beyond knowing that they appeared in the other book.To me, this one took a little longer to get into than some of the others in the series. I became frustrated to some extent with the back and forth misunderstandings on both sides and how neither one really knew how the other felt (after 5 months!). I wanted to scream at each of them to just tell the other one how they felt already. The power at work piece of it made me a little uncomfortable - the way it kept being referred to as harassment (maybe it was, maybe it wasn't) is a little offputting as a professional business woman (just my opinion). But that didn't detract from the book as a whole.I can't say that this book was my favorite in the series; it definitely wasn't. But, it still had all the elements in it that make this series so great and I'm hoping there is more to come in the series! less
