review 1: I am SO sad to be completely finished with this entire series of books chronicling the lives of the Bjorkland family of Blessing, North Dakota. I wish it could just continue to go on and on. I feel like I am going to miss my old friends when I can no longer open a book and catch up with them. I thoroughly enjoyed every single book from beginning to end! I highly recommend them to anyone looking for for a good historical Christian fiction read.
review 2: Good "take-away" messages, tho', as far as food for thought spiritually. One of the messages, giving praise no matter what, is something I've been working on anyway, so timely for me...especially since I'm reading these in bed sick while hubby takes care of the littles. ... moreI want to skim back through and jot in my journal for further Bible study when I'm not fuzzy-headed.Writing-wise, better than the previous book in the series, tho' still frustrating. Seriously, why spend so much of the previous two books building a love-interest for the main character, only to change it two-thirds of the way through the last book. Really? Maybe saving his story for a series of its own? Some passages were repetitive and seemed like they missed being edited out. Then the word "receipt" in place of the word "recipe" more than once in this series just annoyed me (tho' has nothing to do with my rating). less
