review 2: Gillian Ormsby, the older daughter of Dorothy Ormsby and her younger sister, Allie, are the focus of this story. Gillian who lives in New York as a high-powered executive at a firm which is about to be taken over and all upper management will be let go. Allie has phoned her older sister to come immediately to California to help out with their Mother who believes she is dying, although hypochondria may be closer to the truth. Gillian leaves for California and the sibling rivalry begins as well as the constant battle to get their ailing Mother out of bed and back with the living. Along comes neighbor, Adam, and a spark begins between him and Gillian which may promise to become something more to Gillian than just friendship.A very enjoyable read. less
