review 1: I enjoyed the book - and am amazed at how the author did manage to have character growth through this format! The book is put together in a style that took me by surprise, jumping through time using political turning points as time markers. The story brought me back to my own experiences during those times - both personal and political (reading about 2000 was agonizing). It is fascinating to read about those events through her eyes - a coming of age interwoven with politics. Well done.
review 2: November Surprise was a quick read but held my interest to the end. I really liked that the book started with Lucy being 17 and in high school in 1988 and so interested in the presidential elections. She was very smart about the men running for president for someone so
... more young. I like that the story went through to the last elections. Going through every four years brought back many memories for me, it was like going back in time thinking about my life and what I was doing at the time. I liked reading about Lucy's struggles but also the friendships that held on throughout her life. I think that anyone who reads this would like the twist and turns Lucy life takes. I think you will find the story light and entertaining. Pick up a copy today! less

This book was ok. It got a bit boring at times and I feel like the ending left me hanging.
