review 1: This title was strongly suggested to me by a seasoned bookseller at Barnes & Noble. It was worth the time to read and enjoy. The story is based on the premise that there are only so many good novels. A select panel of intellectuals decide what books to add to a secret list of novels that are merged into one. However, one can well imagine that things do not follow a logical path; events unfold very quickly. All too soon, members of this elite society are fearing for their lives...
review 2: I loved this book even though I hated this book. The plot grabs you, but then so suddenly switches gears that you have no idea you're not enjoying the book anymore and then when you realize it you love it again. It's a hidden love story within a love story. A love of books
... more and the people who read them is the exterior tale, but inside there is a love story you didn't notice you were reading until the second to the last chapter. I want to move into this store and live there forever. It made me feel that my crazy organizational system for the books that I love is not crazy at all. less

E, durante la lettura, pensare: Quanto sarebbe bello aprire una libreria.

a confusing start but it all becomes clear around page 100. Worth it!
