review 1: Read. Implement. Enjoy.Reasons for unhappiness:not trusting yourselfjudging yourself (comparing to unrealistic ideals)And that way, you can offer yourself to the world and do great works in the world, but not necessarily need that to be happy.Even if for some reason, your work was taken away from you, you would still have that contentment.notice your fantasies.Love your body, all of it, without judgement, unconditionally. That’s not to say you shouldn’t try to do things that are healthy — eat healthy food, form healthy exercise habits — but you can do those things without thinking that your body sucks. You can accept your body as it is right now and still want to do healthy things out of the joy of doing them, and out of compassion for yourself.Action steps: Remembe... morer this truth: Noticing and appreciating the goodness in anything causes us to be happy about living. And the more we notice and appreciate about our lives (and ourselves), the happier we are.We judge other people’s flaws, and our own flaws, as “bad” … but what if they’re just a part of being human? Then aren’t the “flaws” a celebration of who we are as humans? Aren’t anger and rudeness and mistakes a part of our beauty as human beings?we are all learning.Recognize the fears and worries, and let them go. Relax into this new space of being OK with yourself, being happy on your own, knowing things will always be OK.Not needing someone’s approval doesn’t mean you don’t want to connect with them. The desire for approval is causing you pain, and you don’t need that pain. It’s true that achievement/improvement can be driven by dissatisfaction, but it’s not mandatory.
review 2: I'm a big fan of the blog, so this has been on my list for a while now, and I'm glad I finally got around to it. It's a short read, but as the author notes, worth reading in one concentrated, undistracted session. I found it to be a little bit repetitive at times, though only really for the sake of reiterating and exploring the core theme of finding contentment with ourselves. There are a number of great examples/themes/common issues, and tips for how to deal with these. I suffer from at least a few of the bad tendencies here, as I imagine most of us do, so this is helpful. Worth the hour or so it'll take you to read it for the sake of finding (more) contentment with yourself and your life. less

IT's been good read but some ideas repeated in the book itself many times. could be made shorter.

A nice short read, that really clicks at the end with a very interesting FAQ chapter
