review 1: Nonostante questo non sia uno dei generi che preferisco, devo dire che sono rimasta piacevolmente stupita.La trama, di per se, è un pò ingannatrice. Ero convinta che mi sarei ritrovata davanti la storia dela famiglia Keeler con fratelli e madre.Invece quelle che abbiamo seguito sono le storie di tre donne. Tre donne che hanno sofferto e lottato per restare a galla e che, alla fine, sono rimaste coinvolte (almeno due di loro) nelle vicende e nei segreti dei Keeler.Del grande segreto di Diana mi è importate ben poco, se devo dire la verità.Quello che mi ha davvero appassionata sono state le storie di Naila, Julie e Maddy... bhè, magari di Maddy no, ho trovato la sua storia fin troppo noiosa. Ma quella di Naila lo più che adorata e ne sono rimasta molto coinvolta, emoti... morevamente parlando.Quella di Julie mi ha fatto sorridere... almeno finchè non ha sposato Aaron.In verità, tutta storia perde un pò mordente nell'ultima parte. Nel momento in cui le ragazze entrano a far parte della famiglia Keeler, facendo calare la mia attenzione.Ma a parte questo, tutto sommato, il libro mi è piaciuto e non sono rimasta delusa.
review 2: It was an easy read and although not lighthearted didn't make you think while you were reading it. The story could have a sequel and I could easily see it being made into a movie or a tv series. I could picture the characters and I could sympathise with all of them. One minute I liked them and then I saw their flaws and wasn't so sure, but I think this is what the authour wanted us to think. I wish the two older brothers were developed more as we didn't have very much from their perspective, mostly their wives.I like the style of taking each chapeter by different characters point of view. It adds some depth to the story.A little predictable, but what soap opera isn't and like I said this could easily be a Dallas style drama on tv. A good holiday read. less
