review 1: As usual from Lesley Lokko I found this to be an excellent book that kept you gripped all of the way through with a mix of likable characters and those that you love to hate!I was however slightly disappointed with the ending, the last couple of chapters build you up to something that you think is going to be a dramatic finally and the end result is a slight let down.Saying that I still love this author and haven't been put off from reading her other books.
review 2: Ho letto parecchi libri della Lokko e, ad esser sincera, questo è quello che mi ha convinto di meno. Sarà che ho trovato poco realistica l'ambientazione nel mondo militare... o meglio, stereotipata. I libri della Lokko si assomigliano tutti nello schema: 4 donne, ognuna proveniente da un Paese di... moreverso che amano con grande passione, luoghi meravigliosi e vicende abbastanza ripetitive e incredibili (nel senso di irreali) ma appassionanti. Ecco qui ci sono le donne, i Paesi meravigliosi, ma è mancato il mio coinvolgimento per le protagoniste. Anche il personaggio principale maschile manca di quel fascino che rende i libri di questo tipo utili per qualche ora di spensierato intrattenimento. less
