review 1: I wish someone had warned me this was the first, and only book in an abandoned series. It was kind of a let down to turn the last page and discover a "to be continued". :-(I liked the book well enough, despite the archaic language: 'Twas annoying.But now I guess we'll never know whether Kaia and her princeling twin soul will ascend the throne, find a mate for Redfist or come into their magic powers. This book can be read, and enjoyed on it's own, but it would have been so much better as a part of a trilogy. 3 stars.

... morean't even say the name of the protagonist...yeah, I hate these. And then I fell in love...about 4 pages in. LOVED this book. Can't wait to read more of them. Love the world. Love the main character--strong woman with a soft spot for all things lost. Thanks Lilith. I may have rejoined the world of high fantasy after reading this. Surprisingly good for a samhain release. But then Saintcrow is an awesome author.
