review 1: O wow. I could not put it down! The way Lily Brett tells the story of Lola is great and highly intelligent. An autobio mixed with the character of a rock memoir. It was really hard for me to finish this book, I could have spent several months reading it instead of only 2 days (it was that gripping!). I even carried it in my bag for days after Id finished. Definitely one of my favorites. Soulfood for the ever so longing twentyish dreamer!
review 2: So, I received this book for free from the Goodreads First Reads program... back in October. It is now June. I have picked this book up at least a dozen times over the last 7 months and it could never hold my interest but I felt obligated to finish and review it. ... morey not entertaining in any way. The writing style was horrific and pretty much made me want to gauge my eyes out. Lola Bensky is an Aussie journalist that interviews rock stars, basically. She's the child of Auschwitz survivors, obsessed with dieting, and entirely unsure of herself. She's quirky, has bizarre experiences, and is incapable of being concise. I'm sure someone out there would find this amusing but that someone isn't me. Dear. God. So thankful to be done. less

So well written. I finished it in two nights. One of Australia's finest authors.
