review 1: I don’t usually enjoy reading short stories as I tend to find them unsatisfying and badly developed. This was not the case here and although I didn’t like Ice Cracker II as much as I did the rest of the Emperor’s Edge series, it was still an entertaining read. The two stories featuring Amaranthe & Sicarius are fun enough (Ice Cracker II is my favourite) but the one with Books isn’t that exciting. Still, it was nice reading these stories now that the Emperor’s Edge has come to its conclusion and that there will be no new instalment. It was nice to visit the empire again!

... morelowup to an "Ice Cracker I," but the name of a ship. In addition to being light reads, the stories are satisfying in that they each have a complete beginning-middle-end, and don't leave you scratching your head and wondering what happened to the rest of the story when you reach the end(s). Each continues to develop the characters across the board, and give delightful tidbits about their inner workings. As in The Emperor's Edge, there is never a dull moment. less

Three short stories set in the Emperor's Edge universe. A good addition to the series.
