review 1: So stinkin' glad there is one more!! I'd hate to leave these friends behind :/. This series is one that I have wholeheartedly enjoyed over my last (oh, the sorrow!!) days of summer. The characters are well developed and multifaceted, the plot is pretty dang solid, and the vocabulary! Oh, the pretty words... *drool* Anyhow- great series. Especially if you are in search of a strong female protagonist who isn't an obnoxious airhead.
review 2: I'm depressed that this series has come to an end. I'll have to re-read the whole thing at some point, in order to really absorb the evolution of the romance between Amaranthe and Sicarius. I did feel that for the all the action leading up to the final point in this book really left the ending with a lot to be desired. Yes... more, it wrapped up nicely but it ended much too abruptly (action, action then bam! The end) and the new government and systems and what happens with all the secondary characters could have been explored further. Oh well, at least we achieved some sort of a redemption. less
