review 2: Vampire's Ball by Angela Knight I had read this story before and I had a major problem with Kat only coming into her powers after lots of awesome sex. Like hottie vampire guy holds the key to all her powers. Why is a man the holder of power as if he is the one bestowing it on her instead of her having the power in the first place as an individual person of magic? The story is actually very interesting and engaging but I couldn't let go of that part of the story. Sweet Enchantment by Anya Bast I confess that I was very surprised that I liked this story. I'm generally not interest in stories of the fae and fairies. Maybe I'm too spoiled by disney. But I loved the idea of the Black and White towers and some unexpected role reversal that where absolutely delightful! I want to read more by this author because I would like to read a story that concludes in a way that actually gives me a since of closure. I was worried about the couple at the end of the story instead of feeling that they are on track for a solid HEA.A Little Night Magic by Allyson James This is another story that I had read before but my memory of the plot was a little off. I really liked Naomi, I didn't like her guy who's name I don't remember. I understood why he left town without explaining the situation, but his return was ridiculous. How could you possible come back and have the ego to think that you can and will wear someone down with sex? Seriously, try dealing with the issues first. Try validating some feelings of rejection. Acknowledge that she doesn't have to have a damn thing to do with you! Yep this story was a little rant worthy for me. With that said I liked the dynamic between them. I wish that they had had a threesome with Coyote. I just think that would have been interesting.A Christmas Kiss by Lora LeighThis was a new Lora Leigh story for me but it explained and inbetween story for me. I knew about Jess's betrayal of the breeds but I never knew what happened to her. They didn't kill her which is a change in behavior for the breeds. But she has a tragic love story. Breed love stories are always full of such suffering that when they finally get together you are so thrilled for them. I really liked this story. less
