review 1: I liked it, but then it didn't have anything new that made this book somewhat different than the others. When you read a series as long as the Breeds, you start to find everything a little too repetitive, though never forgetting all that hotness and all that sex scenes just to make us drool. Stygian and Honor were good together, though there were some couples that made my life a lot more happier than them. And I didn't much care for that ending. Way too open.
review 2: Once I start a series, I'm committed to finishing it. Especially having read as many volumes as I have with this one! Stygian's Honor, while not a terrible read, still isn't an example of Lora at her best. Some of the details in the timeline had me confused. The most confusing bit was Amber's age
... more from an infant of only eight months at the conclusion of Lawe's Justice to a terrible two's toddler at the beginning of this book! This age leap is pure ridiculous because one of the opening scenes in Stygian's Honor was carried over from the epilogue of the previous book. A good editor should have caught a goof of this magnitude, so shame on the publisher there. As far as the story development, it manages to run nowhere fast. We learn a bit more about Gideon's agenda that we probably already had figured out, and the plot twist with the heroine wasn't as big of a reveal as it could have been. I feel like we're stuck in Purgatory with the Amber storyline, and the presence of Jonas Wyatt and his mate overshadows and outright eclipses the presence of the titular hero and heroine. As it did to some extent in Lawe's Justice. I'm relieved that Lora Leigh is planning to wrap this story arc up in a few books. There are other characters that I would like to read about: Cassie, Dog, Dane and the Winged Breed Keegan to name just a few!Stygian and Liza as a mated pair were alright. She displays the trademark female stubbornness we've come to expect and Stygian wasn't overly hard headed ;) I'm used to the formula!Longtime readers will want to at least give it a cursory skim to keep abreast of the plot line, but don't expect any major revelations or a return to Leigh's better days. less
