review 1: OMGWTFBBQ!!! Let me repeat, OMGWTFBBQ!!!I thought I was reading a historical with some paranormal elements. Not so much. But I guess if it's categorized as a paranormal, the mistorical parts don't matter so much?From the beginning, I could not connect with the heroine. Then, as I read on, I alternated between "hmm, this is intriguing" and "WTF!" I was prepared to like it somewhat, but at the end, the WTFery got to be way too weird and I could not suspend disbelief any longer. But yeah, YMMV.
review 2: Orphaned Ella has been brought to $creepy_estate to become governess to the heir to an earldom, a wild man raised by wolves in the jungle or some such. Well, actually not so much raised by wolves as hiding from the human variety of wolf trying to kill him. As the ... moregoverness becomes attracted to the hero (who isn't half as wild as he comes across), it becomes obvious that they are still being stalked by human predators seeking a map to a clue to some mysterious magical McGuffin! There are a few surprising twists in this historical book of romantic suspense, but the ending seems inconclusive unless this is the first of a series. less
