review 1: Un excellent dernier tome. D'abord perplexe face au sujet utilisé pour l'intrigue pas l'auteure, j'ai rapidement plongé dans cette histoire d'amour étrange et complexe car au final elle est de toute beauté. Comme à chaque fois, Lorraine Heath réussi à m'embarquer, à me faire ressentir de nombreuses émotions. Mention spéciale pour l'histoire de Tessa, la mère des 3 héros, que l'on suite en filigrame depuis le premier tome et qui va arracher des larmes. C'est vraiment une belle série avec des personnages forts et attachants. Pour toutes les fans de Lorraine Heath!
review 2: This review alludes to spoilers. You know, when your heroine quite literally never calls your hero by his first name, it comes off as a bit stilted. I know, I know, he's a duke, b... moreut that's never stopped all of the other ladies who have snagged one of the infinite number of dukes in the world of historical romance. Then again, with a name like 'Ransom Seymour,' maybe it's better that everyone -- and I do mean everyone -- calls him 'Ainsley.'Oh, and there's not even anywhere close to enough nope in this world for the premise of the book, even though it provides a neat foil to the previous generation's secret-keeping. There is also not enough nope in the world for Walfort or for his 'jewels,' particularly the eldest of them, who comes off as rather irritating with her story late in the book. Aside from that, removing a small vile from one's waistcoat pocket made me laugh not with the book, but at the book. less
