review 1: This author became an immediate favorite with the first one I read, and hasn't disappointed me yet. What grabbed me immediately was her scholarship. Her clear descriptions of the lives of women in the time period never leave a sour note. She plots well and carefully, and doesn't ever cheat the reader with hidden information. The lives and relationships of her characters seem very real. I got my first book of hers as a free sample, I am more than happy to purchase all the others.
review 2: I bought the first book in this series on a whim after being let down by so many of the random mystery books I found on Amazon, and I was instantly hooked. Bloody Lessons was just as good as the first, just as much of a page turner. I'm already ready for the next installmen... moret! M. Louisa Locke always plots out every single detail of this book, so well.. and it always keeps me intrigued and fascinated by the era. I'm so happy to have found her books! less
