review 1: "Teenagers are very impulsive and have not had enough life experience to understand that the way they feel and think at the moment is not always going to be the way they feel or think. Depression, drugs and the longing to fit in to the point of having the willingness to do anything for a "friend" are warning signs we as parents so often miss. Please, parents, talk seriously to your teens, find out what they think and how they feel." (By Teresa Gregory)It's all just very sad story with really sad characters (and perhaps some are just sociopath). I don't really like any of the people inside the book, though I don't think it's the author's fault. I feel the book is very insightful to a teenager desire: to wanting to fit in, to be a leader, to be respected/attended to.I am no... moret particularly fan of the writing. I thought it was very fragmented, and it becomes very distracting. In any case, that's just my point of view.Quick read to kill a weekend with.
review 2: It's heartbreaking what a short and very sad life young Adrianne led. She clearly only wanted to be loved and appreciated yet her family sent her back 'n' forth from parent to parent and so-called friends at school just weren't there for her. Her parents had her at such a young age that they really were in no position to raise her properly.It's horrifying what these teenagers did to one of their own who really did nothing to them whatsoever to warrant being attacked the way she was. There were odd words missing in this here and there and continuity errors too. Plus this writer always hops about back and forth in time which can make for a bit of frustration at times.All in all, it was well told, though......and leaves you wondering about the youth of today. less
