review 1: After reading Brilliance, I couldn't wait to find another of his books, and this one largely didn't disappoint. Although, the two deaths is not that clear to me... I did think it lost the plot a little a few times, and became a little unbelievable. I mean what couple goes for a run on the beach in full make up, hair etc, and then goes to a function without having to tidy up? Don't they sweat?
review 2: Took me almost half of the book to really get into it. I did end up liking it, but I really disliked how it was written, between the short choppy sentences and the "script" parts. Those both annoyed me and it seemed to make the book poorly written, like he couldn't figure out how to tell the story without gimmicks. I did really like the last part/end and
... more just wish it was better written and that it wasn't so slow/boring/choppy in the beginning. less

Good book, but not as good as Brilliance. A few too many coincidences but still worthwhile.

Sort of predictable and the characters were so-so. This is an earlier work by Sakey.
