The poems are from the perspective of the powerful white rulers to the poorest worker on the panama canal. they are from the forest girl and the beautiful butterfly and the angry howler monkeys. They tell of a time long past of broken dreams and segregation. it tells the story of one of the greatest engineering feats in history. It tells of the canal that made the world seem small and the people and animals who gave their life to make it. it is a story of poems so powerful it can change your heart and how you live your life.
