review 1: "Tender Morsels" was beautifully dark and wonderfully written. However, I would not recommend it for every reader-- I believe it is an acquired taste, as it covers a lot of serious material. Immature readers may not be able to deal with some of the darker themes. That being said, Lanagan does an excellent job of fleshing out the original fairy tale, and while the ending is bittersweet, it is fitting. I loved the twists and turns that happened along the way, and the fact that I couldn't always anticipate what was going to happen. Bravo! Lovely writing.

... moreghters. By the middle of the book I was bored. I could only admired the beautifully crafted writing for so long, then I wanted more. I am unsure why the author decided that character Liga, needed more pain after her childhood experiences. less
