review 1: I think that I had too high of expectations. I saw a review claim that this is the most original book that I will read of 2014/2015, and that is way too high a claim to meet. I haven't read anything by Neil Gaiman yet, but there is a lot of self-deprecating (and quirky) humor and the very sick storyline a la The Fault in Our Stars (re: the comparison in the summary/blurb), so that at least rings true.
review 2: I wish this book's release wasn't so far away because I am ready to tell everyone about it! Kinda bummed that it's pitched in part as The Fault in Our Stars because, while it does feature a female main character with a sickness, that's where the similarities lie. Easily for fans of Neil Gaiman, Peter Pan, Castle in the Sky, etc. The imagery and writing a... morere done so beautifully that readers will be entranced from the beginning! less
