review 1: I totally loved this sweet heartwarming story. Of course it broke my heart 1000 times but there was SO MUCH imperfection in these characters the reality or the world crashed down. "People are mostly kind." That is what I took away from this. Nick and Owen are a mess LOL but together they are whole. Everyone around them isn't perfect, hell Owen's mom is the Devil for sure. But generally the world isn't as awful as Owen thinks it is. It isn't until an unlikely hero saves the day that you see the sun break free from the clouds.
review 2: Never a Hero by Marie Sexton is the fifth book in the Tucker Springs series. This one is really heart meltingly sweet. Owen is a recluse. He has half of his left arm missing since birth. He stutters, and has an over bearing mom w
... moreho always downs him. With so many strikes against him you would think he had no spirit left. Enter someone worth fighting for Nick.Nick on the outside appears to be all Owen is not. He is charming, sweet, kind, loving. But he hides a terrible secret pain. When he starts to get to know his upstairs neighbor Owen, he really likes him. He wants to spend time with him. Maybe even date. When they start to get close though Nick pushes Owen away.Owen has no idea why but he pushes through his own pain to help Nick through his own turmoil. I liked that both men have strengths the other needs. Together they are better, stronger than alone. The love and understand both men have made me just cheer for them. I wanted them to be what the other needed to break through the walls around their hearts. Ms. Sexton brings an emotionally charged story with Never a Hero. Both of these men are true heroes they just have to open their eyes and see it for themselves.Though part of a series this book can be read as a standalone novel. I highly recommend picking it up for one heart melting emotional read you will never forget. less
