review 1: I have discovered another great read--Mark Gimenez's Con Law. Some of the comments compare Gimenez to John Grisham, but based on this book, I think he is better. The book centers on John Bookman, a constitutional law professor at the University of Texas Austin. Besides making constitutional law come alive for his students, he goes to the aid of former student, Nathan Jones, who asks for help in exposing a fracking operation in west Texas. Although Jones is dead by the time Bookman arrives with his intern Nadine Honeywell, they pursue the case relentlessly. I won't give away the plot but it is a wild ride. I could not put down the book and look forward to reading more of his books in the future.
review 2: I couldn't decide what rating to give this book. M... moreaybe 3 1/2 stars would be more accurate. John Bookman (Book) is a professor at the University of Texas Law School, and teaches Con Law. He's a popular teacher, bestselling author, and gifted lawyer. So popular that he receives thousands of letters pleading for help. Since Book can't help everyone, he responds to the ones that really matter to him. I liked the way this book opens: Bookman is in his Constitutional Law class, discussing past and present Landmark Supreme Court cases. Having taken a Con Law course myself, and always been fascinated by the Supreme Court, I thoroughly enjoyed this part. Gimenez has a great sense of humor, and this book is a terrific thriller. I will be reading more of his books. less
