review 1: Audience: Because of the context, this book is best for 1st and 2nd graders. Appeal: I think this book would appeal to 1st and 2nd graders because of the fun, colorful illustrations. Also, the book has an exciting, playful storyline. Application: I would use this book for a word wall activity. Because this book has vocabulary that children use most commonly in their writing, creating a word wall will encourage practice and repetition. We would first read the book as a class, then (also as a class) decide which words should be included on the word wall. review 2: Theme: The importance of friendship and ... morefamilyFriends James and Eamon enjoy a wonderful week at the home of Eamon's grandparents during summer vacation. This is definitely a good story about boys being boys. I’m not sure if girls will find this enjoyable, but boys will find it interesting and humorous. The author uses credible characters to tell a good story by using setting that is familiar to children and told from a child’s point of view with a happy nature. less
