review 1: I had to read this for a World Literature story at Creighton, where she also works. It was a very engaging story and we were able to attend an author's lecture on the book to learn about the behind the scenes process of how the book came to be. This copy is headed to our local public library for our Nebraska Author's collection. I can't say I couldn't put it down because I had to read it fast anyway, but I would have enjoyed it none the less.
review 2: I was pleasantly surprised by this book. I started it once, stopped reading (there was something I really wanted to read more), and then read it for a book discussion group. I found the characters very engaging, although the situations seemed artificial to me. And of course, I kept waiting for the camels and
... morea couple of the characters to come to grief. It was a good story of how one person can change the world. less
