review 1: This was an okay read. Definitely not my typical genre but it was cute and engaging. This was a book club read. The ending, however was ridiculous. I mean come on...(spoiler) she gets to keep the money and Tee proposes to Dempsey after her short time in GA. Gimme a break. the Feds aren't giving up that money! Plus, Dempsey is all of a sudden an interior designer willing to roll up her sleeves and do some hard house work? I find that hard to believe considering she's spending 150 on jeans! Other than these things, okay book. Doubt I'll read anything else by this author, just not my thing.
review 2: Always enjoy the sass of Mary Kay Andrews. When a scandal puts her name in the news, Dempsey loses her job as a lobbyist in DC. He father asks her to rehab the fami
... morely homestead in Georgia he just inherited from an old uncle. As Dempsey paints, cleans and remodels the home she finds the small time life and their characters charming. Add in an elderly squatter and her new age artistic mother into the mix of romantic Southern genetlemen and local gossip and you've got an interesting storyline. A cute story with a little revenge on her old boss. Happy ending less

Just what I expected. Hard to believe a lobbyist could do so much work and do it well.

Strictly mindless beach reading. Not MK Andrews' best book, but I did enjoy some of it.
