review 1: In the end, I gave this 2 stars although by it's conclusion, I sort of enjoyed it. Despite this, I spent a tremendous amount of time strongly disliking this book. The characters were caricatures of people struggling with different issues. Although the protagonist meant well and had a good conscience in the long run she was a wimp. What kind of adult hides a dog from her mother because she is too afraid of her reaction? As a divorced woman, I understand the urge for revenge. I understand the importance of forgiveness. I understand the importance of accepting responsibility for the breakdown of the marriage, even if the ex-spouse cheated/left/betrayed/robbed--pick your fault. This book just seemed to wrap all the improbable pieces up way too neatly fo... morer me.
review 2: LADIES NIGHT by Mary Kay AndrewsOne of my favorite “light read” authors has written a fun take on divorce and retribution with a smattering of romance. You will laugh at the antics of wronged women compelled by a sadistic judge to attend “divorce recovery” sessions with a well meaning but slightly loopy therapist. When one of the attendees turns out to a “wronged man” instead of woman you know you have a few laughs at his expense. The characters are clearly drawn if perhaps overdone, the “mystery” is solved with the perpetrators brought to justice. The situations are believable and hilarious. Altogether this is a pleasant way to spend a few hours.4 of 5 stars less

Silly and predictable. I've enjoyed a couple of her books, but not this one.
