review 1: The book from the Magic Tree House series, Stallion by Starlight, by Mary Pope Osborne is about a brother and sister named Jack and Annie. The brother and sister used the magic tree house to go to Ancient Greece. They got to meet the Aristotle, philosopher and Alexander the Great from when he was a child. Jack and Annie were sent there by Merlin who was a magician, to find four traits of greatness from which they found the first one which was humility. This book has wont the New York Times Best selling series award. I think it was a great hard cover book. The language was appropriate for the age group it’s written for, nice illustrations with clear and understandable pictures. Great cover picture to attract children towards reading this book. I think this is a well prese... morented children’s novel which I would recommend to child readers.
review 2: I listened to this on a road trip...and I stupidly thought it was just one CD...I thought it ended very abruptly then a few days later I found CD 2 and I thrilled.. I liked the history I liked Jack and Annie how they 'choose to be kind' and taught Alexander the Great to be Humble. GREAT!On a different note... it is clear that Mary Pope Osborne is a great writer for children...but I got the audio books where she is narrating and thought I am all for authors reading their books...perhaps a professional voice actor would have been nice. I do not like her voice...she makes Annie sound not just like a little girl but a stupid little girl. We know Annie is NOT Stupid..I just didn't care for her voice...oh well, just read the book and the voice in your head will be YOURS!!! less
