The Incorrigible Children of Ashton Place
review 1: Very good book SWBST - 15 year old Penelope Lumley is a Graduate from Swanburne Academy and is a governess for three wolfish children known as the incorrigibles. Penelope is trying to uncover Judge Quinzi’s disguise and prove to everyone that he is actually Lord Fredrick’s (Fredrick is the one who hired Penelope) supposedly dead father, and is not worthy of taking over Swanburne academy and changing its traditions. However, this mission isn’t as easy as it seems, saying that Penelope has got a lot of things going on; Penelope is invited to make a speech for the academy as one of the successful graduates, lord ashton tells her that he is cursed and needs her help, and, she and simon are trying to figure out what Edward Ashton or ‘Judge Quinzy’ is up to, all on the... more same day, at the same time. Penelope makes a plan so that she can fit and do all of this together with the help of the incorrigibles and Simon. Will her plan work or will there be some big bumps along the way? The Incorrigible Children of Ashton Place – The Interrupted tale is a story about Bravery, Determination and Trust.
review 2: "Penelope frowned. 'I thought you had a headache?' 'In my leg I do,' Beowulf explained. 'From chicken pox.'"I love this series. I laughed out loud multiple times from all of the books. Someone described this as Lemony Snicket meets Jane Eyre and I can see that. It's that same sort of humor, the sort that is subtle and dry, characters which are baffling, and main characters who have more sense than all of the adults. I've read another review saying that this series is great for advanced readers who aren't ready for the young adult section and I totally agree with that. This isn't a book series for every kid. There's a mystery here that the author keeps hinting at, but one I don't think the readers are ever going to get enough clues about until the very ending, so for that, it's frustrating. The plot twists are a little hard to keep track of, and the cast of characters keeps growing. Still, hilarious. less

Still loving the series, but I admit, I'm ready for more plot advancement.
