review 1: Sasuke battles the big unit from Clouds and then that saucy minx Mizukage who seals him and her in a room of lava, but then he gets out, so that strategy really did need to be road tested first. The 8 tailed fellow has found himself in a karaoke bar (well you interpret the situation one way, and I'll do the other), Sasuke professes her undying love and devotion for Naruto. That didn't end up in some bedroom action, and she storms off in a huff. But whilst Octopus man is belted by Shark man, Octopus' brother the Raikage saves the day ...
review 2: I love this series. Some series lose quality over time, or get too diluted with repetitive story lines, but Naruto has matured/aged so well. In the earliest volumes, you see a group of young kids graduating from school
... more, learning to be ninjas, and really learning how to become adults. And always at the core of the fun and levity, action and adventure, is the serious stories of both Naruto and Sasuke. Two boys with similar suffering, losing their entire families early in life and learning how to cope with loneliness, limited support systems, and finding their place in the world. The crucial moment in the series is when Sasuke decides to give in to his darker urges for revenge, and Naruto chooses to cling to the light and love that he has discovered through friends and mentors in his village. From that point on, the series becomes less about how much Naruto and Sasuke are alike and more about how they are yin and yang to each other. The darker Sasuke gets, the brighter Naruto becomes. Their genius-like skills and strength develop at equivalent levels, and readers can see that eventually the two will need to combat each other in the battle of a lifetime. Sasuke will be aiming to kill Naruto because killing has become the only thing he knows - and Naruto will be aiming to save Sasuke from the darkness, even if it means both of them die in the process. My hopes continue to rest with Naruto, who is always motivated by his desire to save Sasuke from himself - even if the entire ninja world will see Sasuke as a traitor, you know that Naruto would still be there to call him a friend. less
