The Invincible Iron Man
review 1: A continuation of the story. I DON'T like how this major part about Tony Stark getting ousted and S.H.I.E.L.D. closing is just skimmed over in the "Previously" section. Oh, yeah, and this whole alien invasion that caused it to happen. WHAT? Also, Pepper is frumpy looking in this series (i.e. kind of unattractive, although more so in volume 1), and the evil guy in this one, Osborn, totally changes faces. Besides all of this, I still liked this volume. I like Maria Hill and Iron Woman Pepper.
review 2: Despite this being "Volume 2", you can easily get into this without having to read the first one (although it's still worth it to do so). This is mostly its own arc. Even the background information is pretty simple: Skrulls (shapeshifting aliens) had infiltrated
... more and invaded Earth, and they managed to disable most Stark Industries technologies. Norman Osborn somehow became the hero of this incident, even though he is the Spider-Man villain Green Goblin. The story begins with Osborn taking over the American security agency SHIELD (now named HAMMER) and trying to figure out the identities of America's superheroes in the registration database. Tony Stark planned for this and sabotaged HAMMER's computer networks to prevent supervillains from gaining access to the information. Osborn is furious and brands Stark Industries as a traitor to humanity, and tries to arrest everyone who doesn't cooperate with him.Tony Stark erases some of his memories as an extra safeguard in case Osborn captures him, and is forced to use his outdated Iron Man suits because the Extremis enhancements don't work anymore. Pepper Potts sells off Stark Industries and finds a purely defensive Iron Man suit that Stark had left for her, and rescues people from various disasters. Maria Hill joins Tony Stark's cause after being fired from HAMMER, and goes to Texas to retrieve valuable information from a facility there. After she finds it, she tries to look for Captain America for assistance. Maria Hill stumbles onto Osborn's secret prison there, and many of the people are being manipulated by a villain called the Controller. Hill is briefly brainwashed, but manages to break free. Tony Stark has to flee around the world, and has a mock battle with War Machine to throw off the scent. This ultimately fails, resulting in a battle with Namor the Sub-Mariner, an ally of Osborn. The World's Most Wanted arc is a good way to introduce fans of the Robert Downey Jr. movies to the Iron Man comics, but keep in mind that it is more serious than the films. There are a few witty lines here and there, including one from the villain Shockwave about wanting to turn Iron Man's plea for mercy into a ringtone. Osborn is the slimy villain we all know and hate, and works as a villain for Iron Man even without Green Goblin powers. Osborn is perfectly willing to imprison and torture innocent people, but still has enough charisma that his press conferences look somewhat plausible (though Tony Stark makes a few Snidely Whiplash jokes). less

Really enjoyed the story, but still having a hard time with the art. I know that boils down to preference. The only thing I really found frustrating was the coverage of events that happened in the time span between "The Five Nightmares" and this book. I know the intro tried to fill in the blanks, but I still felt like I'd accidentally skipped a whole book or something. A Skrull invasion and Osborn taking over HAMMER is a pretty big deal, and to be thrown into the aftermath leaves you a bit bewildered. I still really enjoy where this is headed and plan on launching into pt. 2 as soon as I have a chance.

I'd give it five stars except for Tony sleeping with Maria Hill. Who I appreciated the character development for but come on Tony is committed to Pepper in this comic and sleeping with Maria is just not appropriate. =PActually it really is worth five stars because I think this arc is almost better than the last Iron Man movie...to some extents. (The ending of the second book of this - cliffhanger? Sort of?)

Bastante floja, empieza de una forma decente, pero se diluye en sencillez y simplicidad...
