review 1: I enjoyed this romantic book about the reconnection of childhood to teenage friends after a 10 year separation. Katie and Jason met in kindergarten and each in their own way bonded to the other but could not express their feelings over the years that followed. Katie meets and becomes the high school sweetheart of another young man much to Jasons distress. Jason then becomes best friends with the third wheel. There begins the triangle that follows them into adulthood and is ultimately tested when an accident kills the boyfriend. In a series of miscommunications, Katie leaves her childhood home grieving and guilty. The story begins when she returns home for a wedding 10 years later. She is determine to face her bad decisions and to resolve the guilt that kept her away ... morefrom the people she loves. Its a tender, well written and well paced story of unspoken love. This is a cold night, fireplace read. Enjoy.
review 2: 3.5 bumped up to 4 just because. Maybe I was in the mood for a totally cute, fun, and easy read. There isn't anything out of the ordinary, but the characters are fun and their interaction/relationships are sometimes hilarious. If you've ever lived in a small town you'll totally relate to this one! I could so see this happening (and, in fact, know that something very similar did happen) in the small town I grew up in. This book almost felt like going home. less
