review 1: I borrowed this book via the kindle lending library and so am glad I didn't pay for it. I found the twists and turns of the plot annoying as they never went anywhere, there were no confrontations. The beginning with the psychic never integrated with the story and to me it felt superfluous. The story seemed to meander on and then end with no conclusions or point. It should have made me sad but I never connected with the characters enough to feel anything. I am surprised I finished it.
review 2: This book was awful. First of all it was so freaking depressing, even though I didn't shed one tear. To me, if an author makes you cry through her words, they are able to convey the emotion that they intended when they wrote the story. I didn't feel the need to cry once e
... moreven though the story was sad. I felt like the authors writing and characters were one dimensional and had no depth whatsoever. I didn't really like any of the characters and didn't feel like I could relate to any of them. There were too many secrets between all of them, and none were revealed at the end, which I thought was a cop out. The other minor thing that bothered me was that the author did not capitalize the word God. I feel like that is very disrespectful if you're going to use faith in the story and not capitalize it. I also thought that the description was misleading. It talks about how Olivia was going to be acting in ways that she can't understand and that will lead to dangerous behavior. i didn't get that at all from the book and there was only one dangerous situation. The blurb made it sounds like she was going to spiral out of control or something and none of that happened. Finally, the whole spiritual and ghost thing was just weird for me. Overall this book dragged on and was just too depressing and flat for me. I won't be reading anything else by this author. less

Very emotional, heart wrenching at times. As a cancer survivor, I can honestly relate.
