review 1: This is my favorite book in the series! I guess I have a thing for big brothers and childhood friends turned lovers. We've been seeing Vince hovering since the first book and claiming he's the "Last Santini Standing"...but not for long. I thought it was a hopeless case when it was mentioned he had a big crush on a girl since high school, and she's married.I loved the development that she's single and their history. He fell in love with Jules since he was seventeen and I'm just enamored of how he's been keeping his grandmother's ring for seventeen years.Jules's marriage to Vince's former friend was nasty. She's a victim of abuse in all aspects, physical, mental, and emotional. She got back on her feet with the help of her parents and is currently running a business involvin... moreg flowers and gardening.I loved how she could be just herself with Vince and he's someone who appreciates all of her. Vince was dead set on making Jules his and with a little nudge from his father he got what he wanted...by public proposal. He was really sweet and it showed just how much he cares for and loves Jules.
review 2: I was gifted this ARC in exchange for an honest review.I truly love this short story! It is the perfect balance of interesting plot, romance and heat. This is the fourth and final story in a series of novellas about love and life in the military by Melissa Schroeder. Each novella is about one of the four Santini brothers. This story is about the oldest brother, marine officer Vicente Santini.Vicente has loved Julianna Erica Andrews since he was seventeen. A day before Jules and Mike (Vicente's best friend) get married, Vicente and Jules share a memorable kiss and Vicente confesses his love to her. Needless to say, they loose touch after the wedding. Years later, a divorced Jules returns, and Vicente wastes no time in getting her to fall in love with him. The heat between them is tangible and their future is bright. This book is so good I will definitely read it again! I highly recommend it! less
