review 1: Imaginitive, silly, and entertaining... I enjoyed this collaborative work. It was certainly unlike anything I've ever read, and was way out of my usual genre. I would never think to pick up sci-fi meets satire; but thanks to Audible's "Deal of the Day", I decided to try something new! It was unexpectedly clever and amusing. I loved how the novel included many of the greatest writers of all time, and brought to light how important literary works of art really are to our history.
review 2: Nothing makes me less sympathetic to the cause of good lit than authors writing about author characters and, through them, getting jabs at critics, the state of publishing, and the importance of fiction. I suppose it could be well done, but it isn't in this case.I used to dismi... moress bad books by saying something like, 'at least the covers weren't too far apart'. I guess now it's 'at least it didn't take up much device memory'. less
