The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel
review 1: Over all, the Nicholas Flamel series is a very good series and is very well written. The way that all five books are written in a week span (Inside the story line) is very interesting to me. Also the cross of different mythology’s and different “Gods” is very different from something that I have read. The way the twins change in the course of a week and their powers that they obtain is very well put together. This last book ties everything together really well and is even full of shockers and a twist ending. I would personally rate this as one of my favorite books.
review 2: well i'm going to review the whole series here. generally, i like this series, mainly because i am a big fan of mythologies. the use of various mithological creatures (or historical f
... moreigures), as misleading as people might say, is the main reason that drew me into these books.indeed, there seems to be an abundance of characters, but i like to think that scott gives them scenes fairly. as more and more new characters are introduced, the dynamic of this series also rises. scott also manages to keep all of them in character, careful not to confuse one's quirk with the other's. i especially like virginia dare, william shakespeare (oh i can't ever read the name the same way again) and aoife-niten, as a pair. josh and sophie are too whiny, while nicholas and perenelle too aloof, despite what they are.i gave this book higher rating than the rest because i love the ending. i cried, good lord, when i read josh's letter, the wedding part. yes i heart aoife-niten pair so much that i got so emotional when i learned they were finally married. other that this, i personally think scott has successfully built the tension from book one to book five, and the tension is finally unleashed in book six. well this series, rather than a book with sequels, is more like one damn long story divided into separate books like you do with chapters. annoying, cause i can't stop reading these for a month (or more).the way scott tells two, three scenes unraveling in different places is impressive, i think. it's not easy to do it, and he did quite beautifully.but, well, the part about sophie and james going back to danu talis is... awkward. the tension built nicely in battle scenes had to drop pitifully in danu talis right before the fall. less

This series was so much better the second time around. Can't wait to read it a third time.

I'm so sad this series is over. I recommend this series to my students all the time.
