review 1: The first book of this series was very interesting. I devoured the book and quickly picked up the next. It wasn't as captivating as the first but the story continued and I was a stubborn reader. I quickly finished the book and picked up the third. It was then that I realized that the story just kept repeating itself, going around and around in circles. It never answered the questions that the first book presented and it just kept working at them. I couldn't even finish the last book. I would recommend the first book as a stand alone, but the rest simply repeat the rest of the story.
review 2: This is what seemed to be an awesome trilogy. I got through book one and could not bring myself to read more. The concepts in this book are very interesting but the write... morer follows a formula and at the end of book one I already knew it and was bored. The formula is as follows...1- Introduce character2- This characters tells main group of characters to go somewhere in order to introduce a new fantasy theme/ scene/ character etc.3- There is a battle.4- They find out that the introduced fantasy theme/ scene or character can not actually do what they needed them to do5- RepeatThings I liked :::- I liked the alternative theory aspect to this book. It was interesting to see how different mythical creatures could come together to form an alternate history time line- And that was about it.What I didn't like :::- The plot was incredibly predictable. - Characters were forgettable- Story lacked originalityThis book could have been something great but it fell well below its potential. less
