review 1: Being the middle act in Hellboy's final act, there's a lot of floating between point A and point B going on in this volume. I've always enjoyed Hellboy's struggle with the 'demon inside' and his struggle with wanting to be a hero and fearing he was something else. His growth and discovery on that point is the part of this volume that sticks with me after I set it down. Fegredo's art continues to work very well and the assembling of the old rogues gallery as they line up to watch the end is pleasantly nostalgic.
review 2: One of the best Hellboy series yet (although I keep saying that!). This was so good that I only read a chapter at a time, to savor and extend the enjoyment of this epic story line.Mignola masterfully weaves threads of ancient myths and Arthuria
... moren legends intersecting with bad intent to slowly reveal the past and potential futures of Hellboy.Duncan Fegredo's artwork is incredibly powerful, with appropriate riffs on the Mignola style, yet confidently evolving and expressing an energy of his own.Highly recommended! less

A slow and confusing start, but it really picks up in the final half.
