review 1: Cat the Cat wants to see which of her friends can fly. So she goes about meeting Bee the Bee, Birth the Bird and Bat the Bat. But it is when she meets Rhino the Rhino that she realizes that anyone can fly if they set their minds to it.Mo Willems is a genius of young children's literature. His Elephant and Piggie series is a perennial favourite for early readers. This series is aimed at a younger group, the pre-school set. Full of easy words and lots of repetition, it makes it a nice beginning reader. Sadly, the plot is not as complex or funny as some of Mo's other works.

... moreome across Rhino the rhino. Surely he cannot fly? Mo Willems' latest series is a gem for early readers, who only have to read a mere sixteen different words to master this book. Although the vocabulary is extremely simple, the story is still delightful for young children, as are Mo's illustrations. Kids will excitedly point out Willems' most famous character, Pigeon, who manages to sneak into each of his books. (Here, he is depicted as the springy playground toy upon which Rhino rides.) Elementary libraries and parents of the very young will definitely want to add this new series to their collection! less
